every person has a legacy.
a legacy is how people remember you... it is simply the impact we instill on the individuals we encounter.
lately, i've been wondering what my legacy is. do people remember me because of my skills in the swimming pool? my yearbook achievements? outgoing personality? what is it about jarron james that people are remembering?
and then it dawned on me. my legacy is a legacy of selflessness. it's a legacy of friendships rooted in trust, dedication, and love. i desire those around me to remember me as one who desires the best in others. but i am worried my legacy i've worked on creating is slowly deteriorating before my eyes. those i once called my friends turned on me. those i once turned for support now give me the cold shoulder.
but the more i think about it, the more i realize the truth: those who really care for me are there for me no matter what. so here i am, ecstatic to know my legacy is thriving in only a few who i care about most in this materialistic world.
i am smiling. i am rejoicing. i have a legacy.
